Privacy

Effective 14 September 2026. KitiKat — Symbolic Weather Monitor is a personal art project by Tomislav Rupić.

Browser extension

After you explicitly activate KitiKat on a tab, it reads visible article/post text and computes satirical pattern scores on your device. That text may contain personal or sensitive information. The extension processes it only to provide the requested HUD, stickers, explanations and optional audio reactions.

The optional Image OCR feature processes only an image you select. OCR software and language data are bundled. The extension does not continuously capture screenshots.

Text, images, results and content hashes are not uploaded or shared with the developer or third parties. There is no telemetry, advertising, account, remote classification or browsing-history database. Observations and bounded duplicate caches are kept in memory, not persistent browser storage. Close the monitor or page to discard its session; Clear & Stop discards OCR results and previews.

Sound requires explicit enablement. Temporary active-tab and scripting permissions are used to run the packaged interface on the page you choose. A full navigation requires activation again. Chrome independently handles extension installation, updates and store services under Google's policies.

Website and album

The companion website is hosted on GitHub Pages, which receives ordinary asset requests including network metadata. Its detector processes user-shared screen frames locally without saving screenshots. The album player contacts YouTube only after you click Play; YouTube then processes data under its own privacy policy. The album player is not part of the extension's classification pipeline.

Limited use

KitiKat's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. User data is not sold, used for advertising or credit decisions, or used for purposes unrelated to the visible functionality described here. No model is trained on your content.
